Abstract: Based on recent advances in information theories, data compression is rapidly evolving from simple desk file compression software into a huge new market for fast data compression and encryption chipsets, which will become a standard part of most future data communications systems. If simple integrated chipsets can indeed double or triple the speed in virtually all communications systems, then not using data compression will simply no longer be competitive. In this session, we examine the different implementations.
