Abstract: A new technique may provide many thousand fold “lossless” image compression both for real-time High Definition Television and for Multimedia image storage in computer. The algorithms are derived from “Autosophy” research, a new science of :Self-assembling Structures”, now emerging from the research laboratories. Autosophy methods provide both superior “lossless” image compression and simpler hardware implementation than conventional cosine transforms and motion estimations. The digital communications code is especially suitable for the new packet switching networks.
